Art Tour

One of the best of all activities there is to do at Backwoods is to take a magical stroll through the Nirvana Woodlands and find art installations, musical stages, and unique environments to hang out in. On your tour, read about the artists and installations you find.

Yoga & Workshops

Join us every day for yoga classes taught by some of the festival scenes most popular yogis. Improve yourself, heal, or learn something new at one of our many workshops at the festival. Learn more about our instructors, what they’ll be teaching, what to bring, and where to find the workshop space in our December Letter from the Director. Don’t forget that you’ll also be able to find the schedule while at the festival via our mobile app.

Frick Frack Casino

Frick-Frack Casino

Bring your wares for trade at our non-gambling, trade-based casino. Several games from Black-jack to craps. Try your luck and be entertained in ways you could never imagine.

Vendor Row

Shakedown Street

Take a stroll down vendor row and go shopping, or grab a bite to eat. There will be over 80 vendors at Backwoods, making for a ton of things to see and buy.

Ferris Wheel

Take a ride on the giant LED Ferris Wheel. This 80’’ tall giant is sure to give you the best view of the festival from the sky.

Community Bond-Fire (Bonfire)

Join us nightly and bond with your community at the nightly “Bond-Fire” in the center of general admission camping. Meditation sessions and spiritual ceremonies will be held daily.

Take a Hike

Hike to the waterfalls on Mulberry Mountain or down to the Mulberry River to enjoy a swim or a rinse during the hot afternoons. Just be prepared as the mountain is steep!

Play a Game

Join one of the many games happening at the event, some organized by the festival, and others setup by the attendees themselves. There’s always someone willing to play volleyball, a game of Giant Jenga, Corn Hole, and more.

Body Painting

Become a walking work of art. Visit our body painting station on Shakedown Street.

Get a Massage

Get a massage at Shakedown Street from one of our vendors and relax. Release the tension from the night before, and feel completely refreshed.

Drum Circles

Bring your Djimbé, shaker, or noise maker and join us for nightly drum circles in the wee-hours of the morning.

Community Art Wall

We'll supply the paint, you supply the talent. Participate in the community art wall and express yourself.

Go Fishing

Bring your fishing license and feel free to fish in our stocked pond at the event.

Tie Dye Something

Don't forget to bring something white. We've got places for you to tie dye cloths, sheets, or underwear.

Waterfalls at Mulberry Mountain

Visit the Waterfalls

A short hike down the mountain (and a steep hike back up) will bring you to Mulberry Falls, a local swimming hole visited by many a festi-kid.

Bring Your Hammocks

Relax mid morning and afternoon in the shade, by stringing your hammock amongst the trees in the Woods.
